David I Schwarz from Spike TV sent along the following:

WATCH LUCHA LIBRE ON MTV2 AND MTV TR3́S THIS SUMMER!

Just when you thought, it was safe to leave your homes this summer, the wrestlers of Lucha Libra will be landing at your doorstep as MTV2 and MTV Tr3́s premiere the new series “Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors” on Saturday, July 17 at 2pm ET/PT.

Featuring amazing aerial acrobatics and elaborate masks, Mexican Lucha Libre is a significant part of the country’s culture and is the best-attended live sporting event after soccer, which is the national sport. For the first time ever, Mexican-Americans will see their beloved traditional sport make the crossover from Latin television to the American mainstream media.

I don't think this will last long...

I mark when I go to a local Mexican restaurant and they have AAA on when I am eating... But with MTV being involved it won't last. Wrestling Society X was a clusterfuck and this will end up the same way and that game looks like shit too!

I heard about this a month or so ago when it was taped. People were kind of scratching their heads as to why WSX was discontinued but they green lighted a product that will appeal to an even more niche audience.

I understand why on MTV Tres... Thats an all spainsh MTV, so I would think rating would be good. Now as for it being on MTV2? It will be very suspect. I would like to see a roster before I think about investing time into it.

Well Lucha Libre debuted on MTV2. Apparently this Lucha promotion is some new fed that started up called "Lucha Libre USA" which is by far the worst name of a promotion ever next to EVOLVE. They show like three matches and include some backstage skits.

The first match was a Trios match that was beyond sub-par. The next match was a tag match featuring Mini La Parka and Mascarita Dorada taking on Pequeño Halloween & Chi Chi a flamboyant rudo who surprisingly had Kurt Angle's old lady under a hood. And the main event included Tinieblas Jr & Marco Corleone who kinda reminds me of Mark Jindrak.

Overall this show is mediocre at best. And if you feel like watching it, then it's an hour of your time.

And also here's the website

Marco Corleone reminds you of Mark Jindrak because it's the same person.

I still say he's a waste of space.

I'm reviewing this in the "review" section above. I enjoyed this more than you guys did but could totally see losing interest after a few weeks.

When I found out that was Mini La Parka I got pissed.... Besides that, I didn't think the show was that bad. The trios match I'll give 2 stars, a couple decent spots. The tag match wasn't that great, but that Mascarita Dorada was awesome, I'd like to see him wrestle Dragon Kid the size difference wouldn't be that far off and this match gets 1.5 stars. The main event was kinda lame and it was a cluster fuck. Corelone's best friend Solid was a waste of space... I'd give this match a half star.

With that all I said I'd watch again. It wasn't great, and it wasn't awful so I will give it another chance.... I want to see more of the RJ Brewer gimmick.

I just found out who RJ Brewer is...and now I must watch this show religiously

John motherfucking Walters!

John Walters vs. Jimmy Rave was the first ROH match I ever watched...and was the reason I got hooked and ultimately into indy wrestling altogether.

I sought out a match of his after reading an article on the 2004 Super 8 tournament in the PWI and viola. Glad he's getting a look.

No more locals in the "Who I Mark For" banners. I decided it was like a "picking favorites" scenario, which isn't fair...since I mark for pretty much all of you guys...

WOW! Shocked you stuck with this wrestling thing after that. Not as bad as Alvarez's story about seeing Ult Warrior vs. Dino Bravo though.

Man, you have no idea. I'm a huge Walters mark...

Also, you probably now understand why I am a Rave sympathist
